He says that healthcare is something that the healthcare business does very rarely. Instead, it helps people with diseases by hiding their symptoms with expensive and possibly dangerous pills. Second, he says people go to the doctor to be involved, informed, and given power, not just to be given pills and walked out the door. Gupta believes that lifestyle management is one of the most successful treatments in medicine, but it is mostly ignored because it is dull and doesn’t make as much money as advertising the newest and most expensive pills.

Gupta also says that everyone in the world should be able to get cheap, high-quality health information that doesn’t use a lot of jargon. It’s too bad that a lot of people depend on Google to answer their questions. The inconsistent and poor quality of information leaves them confused and worried. He believes that the media, the drug industry, and a lot of the time, the healthcare industry make more money by spreading fear than by reassuring and understanding.
