Michael Gilman is an American deckhand who is a cast member of Below Deck Adventure which is set to air for its first season on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 9/8c on Bravo TV.

In 2015, Gilman joined the University of Buffalo where he studied computer science and physics and graduated in 2017. Later on, Michael joined the State University of New York Maritime College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in marine transportation in 2019. He is a green deckhand with experience working on commercial vessels and he boards Mercury eager to learn the world of yachting. Prior to his boating experience on Below Deck Adventure, he was mostly aboard commercial vessels (container ships).

In addition, Gilman has worked as a third mate on these large boats since he began his career in 2021. He has also served as a line cook, well as a sports and parties coordinator in college. Long Island, is his residential area and despite the fact that he loves the water and travel, Michael struggles to keep up with the demands of a motor yacht. He is subjected to pressure from his deck team and cross-department drama thus he is forced to make the decision on whether to leave or up his game.

During his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and going to Walt Disney World. Michael also owns a boat that he likes to take out for a spin in his spare time. In the trailer, fans saw him dispute with Bosun Lewis Lupton and thus suggested he left the season either because he quit or got fired. Furthermore, the Below Deck Adventure‘s production posted a deckhand job posting on Instagram midway through the inaugural charter season. Other cast members on Below Deck Adventure include; Faye Clarke, Kerry Titheradge, Jessica Condy, Kasie Faddah, Oriana Schneps, Lewis Lupton, Kyle Dickard, and Nathan Morley.
