Fareed Zakaria Biography
Fareed Zakaria is an Indian-American political commentator and author working for CNN as the host of CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS and writes a weekly paid column for The Washington Post. He joined the CNN news team in June 2008, after previously working for PBS.

Zakaria studied in Mumbai at the Cathedral and the John Connon School. In 1986, he graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts. While there, he was president of the Yale Political Union, editor-in-chief of the Yale Political Monthly, a member of the Scroll and Key club, and a Party of the Right member. Following this, he earned a PhD in government from Harvard University in 1993. There, he studied under Robert Keohane, Samuel P. Huntington, Stanley Hoffmann, and others.

Zakaria worked as an editor at Newsweek International, managing editor at Foreign Affairs, columnist for Time, expert for ABC News, and host of the PBS show Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria before beginning his job at CNN Worldwide.
The Arthur Ross Media Award was given to Zakaria by the American Academy of Diplomacy in 2017. Zakaria has been called “the most influential foreign policy adviser of his generation” by Esquire magazine and one of the “Top 100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy magazine. He is on the boards of both the Council on Foreign Relations and New America. He has many honors degrees and a bachelor’s degree from Yale University. Zakaria also has a doctorate in political science from Harvard University.

They were blessed with three children; Lila Zakaria, Sofia Zakaria, and Omar Zakaria. The couple had separated in 2011 due to troubles in the marriage but Unfortunately in 2018, Paula filed a divorce after 21 years of marriage due to an irretrievable breakdown.
