Dr. Sanjay Gupta is an American neurosurgeon, medical reporter, and writer working for CNN as a chief medical correspondent and host of the CNN podcast Chasing Life. He joined the CNN news team in 2001, after previously working for the University of Tennessee’s Semmes-Murphey clinic as a neurosurgeon.

Gupta and his younger brother Suneel both finished from Novi High School. Gupta then went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and got his Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences. It’s too bad that a lot of people depend on Google to answer their questions. The inconsistent and poor quality of information leaves them confused and worried. He believes that the media, the drug industry, and a lot of the time, the healthcare industry make more money by spreading fear than by reassuring and understanding.
