Brown started her job in Washington, D.C., at ABC7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel8. There, she worked her way up to become a Sunday evening anchor and an Emmy®-nominated special projects reporter who covered many national and international stories. Brown was one of the few local reporters who went to Haiti after the January 2010 earthquake. She later went back on her own to cover the rebuilding in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas. She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Brown graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Studies in Law in 2023.
