Jeff Flock is an American reporter and correspondent working for FBN as a reporter and Business correspondent. He joined the FBN news team in September 2007, after previously working for CNN News.

Flock became a reporter for FOX Business Network (FBN) in September 2007 and is based in Chicago. Flock most recently helped FBN cover the 2022 midterm elections. He has been to the ground during some of the most historic hurricanes, like when category 4 Hurricane Laura hit Louisiana and afterward. He has also been to the ground during Hurricanes Dorian, which was a category 5 storm, and Hurricanes Florence, Michael, and Harvey, which were all category 4 storms.

In his time at FBN, Flock has also covered big business events across the country, such as the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Airshow, the Commodity Trading Pit, and the Detroit Auto Show. Many of the biggest names in the business world have been interviewed by him, including Mark Fields, CEO of Ford, Joe Hinrichs, Executive Vice President of Ford, and Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors.

Flock was the Managing Editor and Anchor of Hurricane Now, LLC, a website that covered hurricanes in the United States before she joined FBN. Beginning in 1980, when he helped start the network and its first news show, Flock worked at CNN for 24 years. His last 19 years at CNN, which ended in 2004, were spent as the Chicago Bureau Chief and correspondent. In this role, he oversaw coverage of the Midwest and helped report on some of the most interesting stories in the country.

He won a George Foster Peabody Award for his work here, as well as an Emmy in 1996 for his coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and other events happening at the time. Flock ran CNN’s bureau in Chicago and reported from there. Flock joined the network before it launched in June 1980 and was part of the original production team working on CNN’s first show.

He was named as head of CNN’s Chicago bureau, so he was in charge of covering news events in the Midwest. Flock became CNN’s youngest bureau chief when he was named Chicago bureau chief in 1985. He joined the Chicago office as a correspondent in 1981 and later took a two-year leave to train for the 1984 Olympic Track and Field trials. Between 1980 and 1981, Flock worked at CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta in several different roles, such as newswriter, producer, and reporter for CNN’s Southeast bureau.

Flock shares the CNN’s Peabody and CableACE awards for covering the Persian Gulf War. The network’s CableACE awards were shared for covering the Waco standoff and the Oklahoma City bombing. He was recognized with a Peter Lisagor Award for his coverage of the UPS strike.

For his work on the CNN special The Money Trail: Democracy for Sale, he shared a Joan Shorenstein Barone Award. He won the Silver Award at the Houston International Film Festival for his coverage of the 1993 floods in Mississippi, which also got the network a Peabody Award nomination. In 1991, he was nominated for a CableACE award for his work on the life and death of Ryan White. Flock went to Boston University and got a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism.
