Jay Harris Biography
Jay Harris is an American sports anchor who is currently working at ESPN. He serves as the Sports Center morning co-anchor from Sunday to Monday alongside Hannah Storm. In addition, he joined the ESPN team in February 2003. Furthermore, he also served as the anchor of the Monday edition of SportsCenter which airs at noon, especially during the NFL season.

Previously, he worked at WPGH-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he served as a news anchor and reporter. He has worked in both television and radio for more than three decades. During his time, he has worked at; WAMO-FM and national news at American Urban Radio Networks where he served as a morning news anchor, outside sports he has worked at the trapped coal miners near Pittsburgh, and, while in Virginia, the fatal USS Iowa battleship explosion.
Norfolk, Virginia is his native home. He attended Old Dominion University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication. Furthermore, he was honored by Old Dominion University in 2003, with a Distinguished Alumni Award. In addition, he served as the keynote speaker for Old Dominion’s 100th commencement ceremony in 2004.
In addition, in 2004 and 2005, he was part of SportsCenter’s Sports Emmy-winning efforts prior to also being a beneficiary of the New York Festival Award the Silver World Medal, the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation gave him the Robert L. Vann Award and the Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals he was awarded an EXCEL Award. Furthermore, during his leisure time, he enjoys golfing and playing bass guitar.
