Hosea Sanders is an American fourteen-time Emmy ward-winning anchor who is currently working at ABC 7. He serves as the co-anchor of “Eyewitness News on The U” which airs on weeknights at 7 pm on WCIU-TV. In addition to him playing a major role in the news department, he also plays a major role in the programming areas. Furthermore, during the weekends he covers disability-related stories on “Celebrating Ability.”

Sanders is also one of the on-air faces representing important station initiatives including the ABC 7/The American Red Cross Great Chicago Blood Drive and the food drive was done in conjunction with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

He has won 14 Emmy Awards, gaining honors for live coverage,spot-news entertainment reporting, news writing, programming, and overall news achievement. Sanders has achieved more than 100 awards throughout his career from numerous churches, and civic and community organizations for his community services.
Sanders has mentored young people in Chicago and enjoys volunteering and speaking with local senior citizens as a motivational speaker nationally. He is active in the Alpha Phi Alpha Big Brothers program, the Chicago Public Schools Mentoring Program, and the NAACP Mentoring Program. Also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Chicago Association of Black Journalists, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
