Burman holds a degree from Michigan University. He began his professional career at NBC2 at Fort Myers working as a reporter. One year after working with the team, he joined KAUZ-TV(CBS) in Wichita Falls, Texas. He worked as a weekend anchor and political reporter for WSVN-TV, a Fox Miami affiliate station. During his tenure at WSVN, he served as the main political reporter, covering the political dynamics for the 2010, 2012, and 2014 elections. Additionally, he reported on major events such as the BP oil spill in the Florida Panhandle. He also anchored breaking news coverage of significant events like the George Zimmerman verdict and the killing of Osama bin Laden.
