Durban, South Africa is his native home. When he was three years old, he was adopted by a large family, with two brothers who are currently in the yachting industry as a Captain and Chief Officer. After completing his education in Cape Town, he followed his brother’s lead and began a life at sea. He secured his first job opportunity on deck but eventually, he ran into some visa constraints that prevented him from leaving the country.
