Yvonne Schalle is a Canadian meteorologist working for Global News as a weekend evening meteorologist on Global News Hour at 6, Global News at 11, and BC1. She joined the Global News team in 2013, after previously working for CityTV.
Schalle attended Burnaby, British Columbia’s St. Thomas Collegiate High School. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, she continued her education. She also received a certificate from Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology Program through long-distance correspondence. She started out as an on-air producer and entertainment reporter for the Rogers TV Peer region. Later on Shaw TV Calgary, she developed and hosted an arts and entertainment program.
Additionally, it was her first time working as a weather forecaster there. She worked from September 2011 until January 2013 at various stations including CityTV as a traffic anchor and weather reporter. In 2013, she started working for Vancouver-based Global BC News after leaving CityTV. She is multilingual in Cantonese, English, German, and Swiss.
