Simon Guobadia is a Nigerian-American philanthropist, entrepreneur, and executive producer. He left the business world to become an entrepreneur on his own. Before that, he was a Certified Public Accountant who worked for several well-known global firms.

In 2007, Guobadia established Simon & Company which later became Simcol Petroleum Limited Company, LLC, a petroleum supplier in Atlanta, Georgia. Guobadia is a self-made, first-generation businessman in the fuel business. He has applied his knowledge and discipline to many other areas of his life, such as personal projects, business ventures, and charitable work.
Guobadia’s desire to be an entrepreneur has led him to make many investments in areas other than fuel, such as music, movies, food and drink, entertainment, and leisure. A lot of these projects are based on his desire to improve his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. At the moment, Guobadia owns companies in the Oil & Gas, Renewal Energy, Manufacturing, and Commodities Trading industries. He also had shares in several Atlanta nightlife businesses, such as The Republic, DAS BBQ II, a barbecue restaurant, and American Cut Steakhouse, which is owned by LDV Hospitality.
He has also worked with other people on several projects, such as Twelve Music and Publishing, KES Entertainment Group with music mogul Akon, and Simon Paige Productions. Simon is interested in many things, and he has also worked in the movie business as an executive director on Jail House Dogs (2012), Ken Ford Live from the Buckhead Theatre (2013), Kill (2019), and Son of the South, which he worked on with Academy Award winner Spike Lee (2020).
Guobadia’s main goal, above all else he has accomplished, is to help others. He is a generous benefactor to his local religious community and a regular donor to Northpoint Ministries – a coalition of seven churches in the Metro Atlanta Area. Guobadia went to secondary school and high school in Nigeria. He went to Loyola College for five years in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. It was a Catholic boarding high school run by Jesuit brothers. After that, he went to Government College Ughelli in Delta State, Nigeria. He later quit school and moved to the United States in 1982. Guobadia got his BBA in accounting from the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC, in 1993.
