Sean Mooney Biography
Sean Mooney is an American anchor working for KVOA as a weekday evening co-anchor of the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. He joined the KVOA news team in 2012.
While anchoring the weekday evening newscast at KVOA, Mooney works alongside Angelique Lizard and Monica Garcia. Prior to joining the News 4 Tucson team, he worked for almost 30 years in different newsrooms. While growing up Mooney watched Channel 4, and he attended the University of Arizona where he graduated with a degree in Radio-Television.
After having graduated, from the University of Arizona, Sean relocated to New York City where he worked for Major League Productions. While in New York City, Sean worked up the ladder to becoming a producer, a reporter, and later a host. In addition, Mooney also worked for the World Wrestling Federation (WWE) where he served as a studio host and announcer. After leaving the World Wrestling Federation, Sean joined WWOR TV where he served as an enterprise reporter.
Furthermore, while Mooney worked for WWOR, he served as an anchor. He also covered stories such as; the ’96 Republican and Democratic conventions, and the crash of TWA Flight 800. Later on, Mooney joined WBZ in Boston where he served as an anchor and reporter. He then relocated to Tucson where he founded his own production company known as Moonrise Productions. Over the years, Sean has earned many accolades for his outstanding work inclusive of; three Emmy awards
