Samantha Davies is an American traffic anchor and meteorologist working for NBC5 as a weekday morning traffic anchor from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and a meteorologist at 11 a.m. She joined the NBC 5 news team in February 2009.
Before Davies joined the NBC 5 news team, she worked for MSNBC and NBC Weather Plus where she provided national forecasts. Samantha has also made a number of appearances on; Early Today, Nightly News, CNBC, and The Today Show. Samantha also worked for Squawk Australia, on CNBC World where she served as an international morning meteorologist. In addition, Davies has also worked at WKAG-TV in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, WBAL-TV in Baltimore, Maryland, KY-Harrisburg, Illinois, and WSIL-TV in Cape Girardeau, MO-Paducah.
Davies provides weekly forecasts and her duties include entertainment and science reporting. In March 2007, Samantha earned an AMS-CBM Television Seal of Approval, and she is also a member of the National Weather Association. In addition, Samantha attended the State University of New York College at Oneonta where she graduated in 2004, with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
Rochester, New York is Samantha’s native home, and this is where her love for weather first began. Her love for meteorology further developed in the summer of 1992, when Hurricane Andrew hit Florida. She was present when the hurricane occurred and was part of the evacuation process. Davies witnessed on firsthand the damage and devastation that was caused by the storm.
