Pat Lawson Biography
Pat Lawson is an American Emmy-winning anchor working for NBC4 as a weekday evening anchor at 4 pm alongside Leon Harris, and host of News 4 Your Sunday which airs on Sunday mornings. She joined NBC4 in 1982, as an anchor and reporter.
After joining News4 as an anchor and reporter, Lawson was then teamed up with Barbara Harrison and together they served as the co-anchor of the noon newscast. They formed the first all-female local news team in the country and not long after, Muse served as the weekend anchor of the 6 pm and 11 pm newscast. She started her broadcasting career in radio and she worked on stations such as; WHUR-FM, WTOP-AM, the former Mutual Black Network, National Public Radio, and WOL-AM. In addition, she then shifted to television and she was able to secure a slot at WBAL-TV in Baltimore. While Pat worked at WBAL-TV, she served as a weekend anchor at 6 pm and 11 pm and as a general assignment reporter.
Furthermore, she has won a number of Emmy awards inclusive of two Best Anchor statues. Pat has also received recognition from the National Congress of Black Women, Inc. DC Chapter, the National Association of Black Journalists, the Minority Business & Professionals Network, the American Association of University Women, and the International Television and Film Festival of New York. Las Vegas, Nevada is her native home and she attended Howard University where she graduated Magna cum laude with a degree in broadcast management and radio production.
