Michelle Charlesworth is an American reporter and anchor working for WABC-TV as a reporter and co-anchor of the station’s Eyewitness News Saturday and Sunday Morning. She joined the WABC-TV team in March 1998.
While working for WABC-TV, Charlesworth has reported news from the occupied territories to Oscar’s Red Carpet, and Israel. She is well known for her award-winning reports on her personal battle with skin cancer. For her work as a journalist, the prestigious Gold Triangle Award was presented to her. In addition, Michelle also serves as the host of; Broadway Backstage, and Above and Beyond which are WABC-TV’s Emmy Award-winning special programs.
Furthermore, prior to joining Channel 7, Michelle worked for NBC 17 in Raleigh, North Carolina where she served as a reporter and anchor. Before that, Charlesworth worked for WMGM in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and WCTI in New Bern, North Carolina. She attended Duke University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. Charlesworth also studied at the University of Freiburg on a full scholarship from the German government.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Freiburg. In addition, whenever Michelle finds time to spare, she enjoys playing tennis, cooking, going to the beach (in a hat, and sunglasses and covered in sunscreen), spending time with her family, and eating Italian food.
