Megan Hartnett is an American anchor and reporter working for WTOL 11 as a multi-skilled journalist. She joined the WTOL 11 news team in January 2024, after previously working for WUFT News.

Hartnett received a bachelor of science in communication in journalism and related programs in May 2022 from the University of Florida. In December 2023, she finished her master of arts in mass communications. She worked for WUFT News as an anchor and reporter while attending the University of Florida. Although she covered a wide range of genres, her most treasured stories deal with the outdoors. Her favorite projects include researching the effects of Hurricane Ian on the agriculture sector, spending time at an equestrian retirement community, and producing a podcast about Florida’s springs.
In the past, Hartnett spent seven years as a customer service staff at Publix Super Markets. She made friends, helped clients, and collaborated with others in a team setting there. She also gave excellent customer service, kept a balanced till, and instructed new hires on how to perform responsibilities. Along with trying to guarantee client happiness and safe money handling, she also strove to minimize waste and ensure that we were as ecologically responsible as possible. Hartnett contributed weekly articles about women’s issues and resources as a writer for Podcast 4 the Girls. She worked in teams and produced original artwork for each piece that was published.
Hartnett helped establish the Richard Rowe Campaign’s social media presence on TikTok and Instagram while she was an intern. She coordinated with others on campaign tactics, spoke with voters exchanged ideas, and prepared materials for debates to increase turnout. Additionally, she has a vinyl record collection! Since she was a young girl, Megan has also participated in Relay for Life and held leadership roles on the University of Florida team. During her spare time, Hartnett enjoys reading, visiting museums, and exploring the outdoors.
