May completed her communication, journalism, and related programs at the Southwestern Community College District. Her love of storytelling began at an early age and inspired her to attend the University of Southern California to study journalism. There, she studied Broadcast Journalism. May covered university news, local news in Los Angeles, Grammy Award ceremonies, USC Sports, and campus news there. After earning her degree in communication and media studies from the University of Toledo, May returned to her hometown to work as a reporter for the student-run news program UT:10 News.
Following her graduation from the University of Toledo, May started working at WTOL 11 as a photographer. From 2016 to 2017, May worked as a former sports manager of the women’s soccer team at SWC.
