In August 2023, Norrils began working as a full-time news reporter and multi-skilled journalist for WTOL 11. But in 2022, he worked there as a summer intern for the first time. He has ties to the community outside of his job at WTOL. Norrils began his career in journalism in 2021 with the Athens, Ohio-based PBS affiliate WOUB Public Media. He worked for the station’s newscasts as an anchor, reporter, and video editor while attending Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, where he graduated in May 2023. Norrils covered politics, business, education, and other topics at WOUB.
