Leslie Marshall is an American anchor and reporter working for Fox News Channel as a contributor and talk host. She joined the Fox News Channel team in 2009, after previously working for KGO-TV.
Marshall received his master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College and a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from Northeastern University. She provides analysis on both political and social issues from a liberal point of view. Her program, “The Leslie Marshall Show”, a 3-hour nationally syndicated radio talk show airs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. After Leslie took over as host of Daynet/ABC Satellite Radio Network after Tom Snyder, she became the youngest syndicated talk radio personality, having hosted shows for more than 25 years.
She contributes a weekly blog post to POLITICS, US News & World Report, and POLITICO’s The Arena. Leslie received recognition as one of The Magazine’s most important women in 2012 and as one of The Washington Times’ hottest voices in politics. In 2004 Marshall and her husband I lost their son, who had a condition called Canavan disease, as both are genetic carriers for Canavan disease. Marshall carries the Ashkenazi Jewish mutation, while her husband carries the Turkish mutation, despite being of Indian ancestry. Despite the fact that there is only a 25% possibility that a carrier like her husband will have a child with this disease, the couple decided to undergo a procedure known as pre-implantation genetic diagnostic (PGD), which required in vitro fertilization (IVF).
The embryos are examined as part of this procedure to make sure they don’t have the devastating Canavan illness. Unfortunately, their embryos had Canavans in cycle after cycle. This occurred with 11 embryos 100% of the time. Marshall thus lost 11 more children in addition to the miscarriages she experienced and the child’s death. The couple was eventually able to adopt a son from Pakistan. Later, she had a daughter with her husband via in-vitro fertilization.
