Kristina Audencial Biography
Kristina Audencial is a Filipina-American anchor working for FOX 5 as a morning anchor. She joined the FOX 5 news team in March 2014 as a reporter, after previously working for U-T San Diego.
Audencial was born in Subic Bay, Philippines, and for the better part of her life, she has resided overseas in Singapore, Japan, and Guam as her father was in the U.S. military. She attended high school in Singapore and later on, she joined the University of California, San Diego where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Kristina worked at local San Diego ABC affiliate, KGTV in 2006, as a producer and writer. Later on, she shifted to KSWB FOX 5 and KUSI where she served as a morning and weekend producer. She also worked in Grand Junction, Colorado at KREX News Channel 5 where she served as a general assignment reporter. While she was at the station, she shot, edited, and produced her own stories.
Furthermore, Audencial returned to San Diego where she worked for U-T TV as an anchor and reporter. While she worked at U-T TV, she assisted in launching the station’s very first UT San Diego morning newscast. In addition, Kristina traveled to the Philippines where she reported on recovery efforts after the destruction of Typhoon Haiyan, and for her reports, she earned an Emmy award.
Kristina worked again at KSWB FOX 5 as a reporter for the evening newscast for two and a half years. Not long after, she joined the station’s morning anchoring team in San Diego. In addition, Audencial joined the Filipino-American community where she served as the host of events such as “For The Love of The Philippines.”During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and exploring different cultures.
