Katie Phang is an American Lawyer and political commentator working for MSNBC as a podcaster, and television host. She joined the MSNBC news team in January 1999, after previously working for WNYW-TV.

After getting her B.A. in Political Science (with a focus on International Relations) from Yale University, she got her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. She also wrote about the Terri Schiavo case and the trial of Robert Blake for WFOR. For Fox News, she became a legal expert, and Greta Van Susteren had her on a lot of times.
Since 2017, Phang has worked for NBCUniversal as a law analyst. In 2021, Phang, Kevin O’Leary, and Ada Pozo all appeared on CNBC’s Money Court to settle money issues. She got her show, The Katie Phang Show, on MSNBC and Peacock in April 2022. It airs on MSNBC on the weekends and Peacock on Thursdays through Fridays. She is also the host of the 12-part video podcast “Class Action,” which follows high school mock trial teams. Phang also fills in as a host on All In with Chris Hayes and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, both on MSNBC.
Phang finished high school at Miami Palmetto Senior High School in Pinecrest, Florida. She went to Yale University and got a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
