Julie Nolin Biography
Julie Nolin is an American anchor and reporter working for Global News as a reporter, anchor, and producer. She joined the Global News team in April 2023, after previously working for CTV News.
Julie started out in print media as a reporter and photographer. She has almost thirty years of experience, having worked for many Western Canadian television stations and almost ten years as a journalist at CTV Vancouver before joining Global BC. Her reporting interests include science, technology, health, and education. She is committed to giving other voices a voice. She is a lifelong learner who is presently pursuing a doctorate in leadership and organizational psychology. Nolin holds a Master’s degree in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University with a focus on Intercultural and International Communication. She has been teaching communications and media at the British Columbia Institute of Technology since 2010.
Nolin is a member of the Native American Journalists Association and the Radio Television Digital News Association. She has won multiple journalism honors. Nolin directed documentaries for The Sharing Circle on APTN for several years, and she is a proud Metis/Cree woman. While Sarah MacDonald is on maternity leave, Julie will now be the anchor of Global News Hour at six and Global News at eleven on Saturdays and Sundays. During her spare time, Nolin enjoys traveling, reading spending time with her family.
