Jacques DeGraff is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX News Channel as a contributor. He joined the FOX News Channel team in 2010.

Jacques DeGraff Career

DeGraff is currently a pastoral staff member of Canaan Baptist Church in Harlem as well as a contributor for FOX News Channel (FNC). DeGraff has been an active advocate of social and economic justice for people of color throughout the majority of his life. His encounter with the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when a high school student enrolled in Morehouse College’s gifted program started him on the path to activism. As a founding member of the international organization One Hundred Black Men of New York, DeGraff served as its vice president and is still an active member today. A nonprofit organization called One Hundred Black Men of New York is committed to uplifting and educating African-American children. Established in New York City for young boys, the Eagle Academy Schools were founded by DeGraff and his fellow 100 Black Men.

As head of protocol for the National Action Network, DeGraff has accompanied Reverend Al Sharpton on trips to Sudan to draw attention to violations of Christians’ rights and to Cuba to speak with Premier Fidel Castro over the U.S. embargo. Degraff is currently the trailblazing chair of the School Construction Diversity Council, which establishes the benchmark for minority and women-owned business participation throughout the state of New York. He was named the MWBE Advocate of the Year by the City of New York. On behalf of the Minority Business Leadership Council, he was the principal negotiator for the historic Collective Bargaining Agreement (PLA) between New York City and the Building Construction Trades Council, which produced previously unheard-of contractual and employment opportunities for women and minorities.

He coordinated a clergy prayer vigil at the UN to protest the carnage in Darfur, for which he was highlighted on the CBS Evening News. He also spoke as the main speaker at the UN at its Commission on Violence against Women. After advocating for the inclusion of communities of color in media ratings to ensure accuracy, Rev. Degraff was also appointed to the Nielsen Media African American Advisory Board. During his recent papal visit, Pope Benedict extended an invitation to him and other Christian and Orthodox leaders from around the nation to join the Ecumenical Prayer Service. Moreover, The State of Israel presented DeGraff with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for his lifetime achievements in the fight for social justice.
