Gus Johnson is an American play-by-play announcer working for FOX Sports as a Lead college football and basketball play-by-play announcer. He joined the FOX Sports news team in 2000, after previously working for CBS Sports.

Johnson graduated from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy in 1985, actively participating in baseball, basketball, and football during his time there. He later graduated from Howard University in 1990. In 2022, he enrolled in Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, with a documentary detailing his yearlong journey broadcast on Fox Sports. His professional background includes serving as a play-by-play announcer for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves (1996–97).
