Gray Hall is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working for 6ABC. He serves as the co-anchor of Action News at 6:30 p.m and the 10 p.m. anchor on PHL17.
Gray Hall Career
Prior to joining 6ABC news, Hall worked at WWBT-TV in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked for five years as a weekday morning anchor. Gray also served as the reporter for “On Your Side” which is a consumer franchise on WWBT-TV. While he worked at WWBT, he not only delivered news but also educated the community on the latest scams and frauds. Hall also had the privilege to work at Virginia Commonwealth University as an adjunct professor.
In addition, before Hall worked at WWBT-TV, he was in Miami, Florida worked for WTVJ as a fill-in anchor and reporter. While he worked at WTVJ he covered several major stories such as; Fidel Castro’s resignation as Cuba’s president and the Miami mortgage foreclosure crisis. Furthermore, Gray has also worked at WCBD-TV in Charleston, South Carolina for 4 years while serving as weekend anchor/reporter. While working in Charleston, he did a feature story for while he was awarded the Green Eyeshade Award
Fort Worth, Texas is Hall’s native home and he attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he earned a bachelor’s degree. During his time at Dillard University, he played tennis and was a member of the Melton Foundation. The foundation enabled him to act as a global citizen by addressing and dealing with global challenges while he traveled to China, India, and Chile. Gray is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and the National Association of Black Journalists
Hall started his career at KTVT, the CBS affiliate in Dallas, Texas where he served as an assistant producer. Not long after, he had his first on-air job at WABG in Greenville, Mississippi where he served as a one-band weekend anchor as he shot, edited, wrote, and produced his stories. During his spare time, he enjoys fishing, traveling, and watching movies.

Gray Hall Brain Surgery
Hall suffered a medical crisis while live on air on October 22, 2017. During Gray’s third newscast for the day, his vision disappeared and he grew dizzy and disoriented. He tried to stay as calm as he could but he began stammering and stumbling over his words. He was whisked off the set and taken to the hospital where he got tested and the tests revealed that he had a colloid cyst on his brain. Hall had emergency surgery and the cyst was removed he was hospitalized for almost two more weeks after which he went back home for recovery.
