Baker became a reporter for FOX News Media in 2018. He was the host of FBN’s WSJ at Large with Gerry Baker from July 2018 to June 2023. This was a weekly primetime show with interviews with important business leaders who affect Wall Street, Washington, and business in America.

He later became the head of the FT’s Washington bureau and its main U.S. commentator. He also wrote about economics for the BBC and worked as an economist at Lloyds and the Bank of England. After going to Corpus Christi College at Oxford University, Mr. Baker got degrees in philosophy, politics, and economics.
