Evelyn Taft is an American meteorologist who is currently working at KCAL9 News. She serves as the weekday night at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m meteorologist.
Evelyn Taft Career
Previously, she worked at KRON 4 in the San Francisco Bay Area where she served as the seven-hour morning show meteorologist. She is also a member of the National Weather Association and was granted the National Weather Association (NWA) Seal of approval.
The Bay Area is her native home. She resided in Los Angeles while she attended the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California. Furthermore, she forecasted the weather for Annenberg’s live newscast while she got her Broadcast Journalism and Political Science degrees at the University of Southern California.
Later after she had graduated, Mississippi State University gave her a certificate in meteorology and she joined the news team at KCOY, the CBS affiliate on the central coast, where she performed a number of duties as a weather anchor, news anchor, and reporter. Furthermore, while she was at KCOY, she spent most of her time reporting from the front line of a number of Santa Barbara County wildfires. Prior to working at the CBS affiliate KION, in Salinas where she served as a meteorologist.
She has always been interested in international culture and travel. She began working at the Bay Area’s Mid-Peninsula Community Media Center, hosting a number of shows on travel and entertainment while she was a teenager. Furthermore, she has resided in both London and France, spent a significant amount of time in Israel, and trekked through South America, Central America, Asia, and Europe.
During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pug, reading, eating from LA’s gourmet food trucks, and sailing.
