David Asman Biography
David Asman is an American anchor working for FOX NEWS as a news guest anchor. He joined the FOX News team in 1997, after previously working for FBN as a host.
David Asman Career
In addition to helping launch FOX Business Network (FBN) in 2007, Asman joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in 1997. He currently appears as a guest anchor on several FBN and FNC shows. Asman previously hosted Bulls & Bears, an FBN post-market program that aired weekdays from 5 to 6 PM/ET. Furthermore, Asman co-anchored the highly popular After the Bell on FBN, which aired weekdays from 4-5 PM/ET. Asman anchored Fox News Live during the week while working at FNC. He was appointed head of FNC’s documentary section in 2005, and while there he anchored a number of investigative specials, such as U.N. Blood Money, a three-part series that looked at the oil-for-food controversy, and Global Warming: The Debate Continues.
Asman began working as the Wall Street Journal’s editorial features editor in 1995, the year before he joined FNC. As an editorial writer, he began working for the newspaper in 1983, editing the “Manager’s Journal” and the “Americas” section. In addition, he wrote over 100 articles from Latin America and other places, including editorials. Asman took on administrative duties in addition to his editorial page duties when he was promoted to senior editor of the Journal in 1994.
In addition to being the editor of the book “The Wall Street Journal on Management: Adding Value Through Synergy,” Asman was honored with the 1986 Inter-American Press Association’s (IAPA) Tom Wallace Award for his coverage of Latin America in the Americas column. Additionally, for his articles on free trade and the economies of Cuba and Mexico, respectively, he was awarded the IAPA’s 1992 and 1995 Daily Gleaner Awards.
Asman started working as an assistant editor for Prospect Magazine in 1978 and worked his way up to executive editor in just one year. George Gilder recruited him in 1980 to launch an economic journal for the Manhattan Institute. Asman has also worked as a consultant for the Ford Foundation on African organizations in the United States and as a radio analyst for Perspective on the Economy. In addition, he was the host of the public affairs program Issues USA on television every night.
Asman completed his schooling in elementary and secondary schools before enrolling in and graduating from Marlboro College. He afterward continued his studies at Northwestern University.
