Christa Dao is an American bilingual journalist working for Global News as a reporter, producer, and digital journalist. She joined the Global News team in January 2016, after previously working for Bell Média.

Dao completed her Liberal Arts and Sciences General Studies, and Humanities from Langara College. She then received a Diploma of Technology in Broadcast and Media Communications from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Moreover, she received a certificate of completion from Athabasca University for Journalism in Conflict Zones. She has covered natural disasters, and royal visits to Canada, and has worked for international media, including the BBC. She was awarded a Regional and National RTDNA Award for Innovation in Excellence Reporting, along with her colleagues in Calgary, for her embedded live report during the peak of the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of American George Floyd.
With a strong commitment to human rights, gender equality, and diversity, she served as host of the 2023 MOSAIC awards, which honor the achievements and noteworthy work of immigrants and refugees who have fought for a fair and varied Canada. Additionally, she participated in a panel discussion on the state of journalism at the 2023 BC Association of Broadcasters as a Future Leader of Tomorrow. Before she joined Global News, Dao worked as a digital Video Journalist filing daily news stories for TV, Radio, and online at Bell Media’s CFTK TV. In addition, she worked as a multimedia journalist at the Department of National Defence. In 2011, Dao worked at CBC as an editorial assistant and chase producer responsible for booking interview guests and writing copy for broadcast.
