Bryan Fischer Biography
Bryan Fischer is an American sports writer, host, producer, and editor for web, print, TV, and radio. He works for FOX Sports as a college football writer. He joined the FOX Sports team in September 2022, after previously working for Athlon Sports.
Bryan Fischer Career
Fischer received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Southern California. Following graduation, Fischer worked as a general manager and special projects manager at Trojan Vision Television. There, he managed the cable TV station at USC. Among the responsibilities were running the station around the clock with a crew of more than 20 and almost 200 student volunteers. Moreover, he identified and sent content to cable systems across the nation, including LA36, Open Student Television Network, and others. The station won four Telly Awards, a Student Emmy, and the title of “Best College Television Station in the Country.”
In addition, he was in charge of every project that the University and the Executive Director determined called for specialized knowledge and care. He also produced and directed of all Trojan Vision athletic events presented in collaboration with USCTrojans.com. He was also the producer of ESPN’s weekly press conference with Pete Carroll. Fischer spent a year working as a sports director at KSCR.org, where he was responsible for staffing sporting events with commentary crews for KSCR 1560AM. He also performed play-by-play and color commentator duties for USC football, basketball, and baseball broadcasts on KSCR 1560AM and USCtrojans.com at home and on the road.
From there, Fischer spent a year working as a writer and producer at Rivals.com. His duties and responsibilities there included, covering the USC beat by writing feature articles, game stories, game breakdowns, columns, and analysis. He also produced, shot, and edited highlights, analyses, and interview packages with players and coaches during football and basketball games, practices, and recruiting camps. Additionally, he researched and co-wrote award-winning Yahoo! Sports investigative work.
In 2011, he joined CBS Interactive, where he was the national college football and recruiting writer. He broke news, wrote features, and provided analysis of key college football and NCAA issues. In October 2012, Fischer worked as a senior correspondent and social media consultant for Pac-12 Networks, in San Francisco Bay Area. Fischer has been covering college athletics for nearly two decades at outlets such as NBC Sports, CBS Sports, Yahoo! Sports, and NFL.com among others.
