Brian Dugger is an American Emmy and National Murrow Award-winning anchor and reporter working for WTOL 11 as an investigative reporter. He joined the WTOL 11 news team in November 2018, after previously working for The Blade.

Dugger received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Bowling Green State University. He is an investigative journalist with experience in print and broadcast media, having won both the National Murrow Award and the Emmy. Dugger started his career in newspapers before moving to television, where he has been the head of an investigative unit since 2018. During his first year in Toledo, Dugger covered the court battle of two individuals. The individuals said they had been wrongly imprisoned. A regional Murrow Award, a national Innocence Network Journalism Award, and a local court reform were the outcomes of the series. The men got out of prison in 2023, mostly as a result of his inquiry.
Dugger emerged as the go-to resource for COVID-19 data, trends, and information in the community in 2020. Due to his investigative work, Dugger won the Regional Murrow Award twice. Moreover, he received recognition as the AP Reporter of the Year and Script Writer of the Year. A well-known genetic genealogist joined the case in 2021 after a three-night series on a horrific double homicide from 2011 rekindled the police inquiry. An Emmy was given to it in recognition. Class-action lawsuits and a review of the city’s relationship with the park police force are the outcomes of the probe.
