Savage graduated from Ramsay High School, then later the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2002. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, the Inter fraternal Council (IFC), and the Minnesota Student Association (MSA). He has experience living in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, where he initially worked in corporate America before transitioning to a career in broadcast news.
