Arda Zakarian Biography
Arda Zakarian is a Canadian anchor and reporter working for CP24 as a morning anchor and reporter. She joined the CP24 news team in February 2014, after previously working for CBC Television.

Zakarian attended York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She then attended Queen’s University and earned a Bachelor of Education. She spent two years as a fourth-, fifth-, and eighth-grade teacher. Later on, she went back to being a student and graduated from Humber College with a post-graduate diploma in journalism. While at the College, Arda assisted her school in taking home the trophy for North America’s greatest radio and television interview.

She enjoys meeting people from different walks of life and venturing out into the field without knowing what the day may hold. Her journalism career began at the age of 19 when she worked as host of OMNI’s weekly Armenian television program NOR HAI HORIZON. She then joined CBS Television in 2014, where she worked as a video journalist, anchor, radio newsreader, and weather specialist. Along the way, she’s done internships at Voice of America in Washington D.C., Sesame Street in New York City, Fashion Television, and CBC Toronto.
Moreover, Zakarian is a lifelong volunteer and is very active in the Armenian community. Throughout the city, she has emceed numerous events, including Taste of the Danforth, Pomegranate Film Festival, and Bollywood Monster Mashup. In addition, she has emceeded; the Ted Rogers Management conference with Ryerson students, the International Young Professionals conference, Sip, Shop & Celebrate Women, a fundraiser for The Scarborough Hospital Foundation, and several performances. Furthermore, Zakarian has spent a significant amount of time volunteering for Scouts Canada, an organization she has participated in for most of her life. During her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
