Anjelicia Bruton is an American anchor and reporter working for 10 Tampa Bay as an anchor and reporter. She joined the 10 Tampa Bay news team in 2023, after previously working for KWTV.
Bruton received a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. As a reporter, Bruton began her career in Columbus, Georgia. She reported on a variety of topics, including fatal tornadoes in Alabama and military problems at Fort Benning. Following Hurricane Michael, she also assisted the sister station of the station located in Panama City, Florida. Before deciding to relocate to the Sooner State and leave the Peach State, Bruton lived in Georgia for two years. She worked for three years as a reporter at Oklahoma City’s KWTV before joining 10 Tampa Bay. She traveled extensively throughout the state at that time to cover hailstorms, tornadoes, and snowfall.
Bruton covered a number of significant events, including the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre, the horrific shooting at a Tulsa hospital, and the city’s attempt to remove a number of politicians after it was discovered that they had met in secret and discussed lynching Black people and killing journalists. Additionally, Bruton developed a deep affinity for long-form storytelling during his time at KWTV. She told stories about diversity and culture while working with the special projects team. She even went to Canada to investigate the origins of an all-Black village established by Oklahomans. Bruton is pleased to be affiliated with several esteemed organizations, such as the Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society, the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), and the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
