Amy Rutledge Biography
Amy Rutledge is an American Emmy Award-winning host, anchor, and reporter working for WGN-TV as a co-anchor of Daytime Chicago alongside Tonya Francisco. She joined the WGN-TV team in August 2021, as a reporter.
Schaumburg is Rutledge’s native home and in 1993. she joined Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Media Arts in 1997. Amy also attended Mississippi State University where she studied meteorology. In addition, she joined KRNV in May 1997, as a reporter and producer. Later on, she worked at WEHT, KVBC-TV, and WATE while serving as an anchor, reporter, and producer.
In 2008, Amy relocated to Shanghai, China and while she was there, she assisted in launching Shanghai’s first and only English-speaking newscast. Later in April 2010, Rutledge returned to Chicago and joined WGN-TV as a fill-in anchor, featured reporter, and traffic reporter in Skycam 9. Prior to joining WGN, Amy held similar roles in Knoxville, Tennessee; Evansville, Indiana; Las Vegas; and Reno, Nevada in addition to serving as an evening anchor for CLTV for a number of years. Furthermore, Amy served as the co-host of The Jam, a morning entertainment show on WCIU-TV in Chicago.
