Chip Brewster Biography
Chip Brewster is an American host working for WGN-TV where he served as a digital content host alongside Larry Hawley. he joined the WGN News Now team in March of 2021.
Before Brewster joined WGN-TV, he worked at WTVT in Tampa, Florida for a number of years while serving as a feature reporter/segment host/producer. He also served as a reporter for stations in Milwaukee, Houston, and Rockford. Chip was in Illinois Army National Guard for almost six years and later on, he was in the United States Army Reserve for nine years. As of the moment, Brewster serves as First Sergeant for the 395th Army Band where he plays saxophone, and percussion and performs as a vocalist/frontman for one of the unit’s popular music ensembles. In addition, he has done lots of voiceover work in the Greater Chicago area.
In 2001, Chip joined Lake Zurich High School where he graduated with a high school diploma in 2005. He then joined Illinois State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication / Television Production in 2009. In addition, Brewster interned at WGN-TV as a writer in 2009, before later joining WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois where he served as a multimedia journalist.
