Larry Hawley is an American reporter and producer working for WGN-TV as a web reporter and producer with an emphasis on sports on WGNTV.com alongside Chip Brewster. He joined the WGN team in June 2012.
Larry earned a degree in media studies from the University of Illinois. While he was in college, he served as the beat reporter for Men’s Basketball and Illinois Football during the school’s run of three Big Ten titles in the sport.
Rolling Meadows, Illinois is Hawley’s native home and prior to coming to Chicago, he worked in Indianapolis. Larry worked at CLTV Sports Feed where he served as a producer from 2015 to 2019, While he was at the station, was a producer in the sports department. In addition, he was also a regular contributor to WGNTV.COM and CLTV.COM.
Furthermore, from 2007 to 2017, he worked at WXIN and WTTV in Indianapolis. While he was at the station, he covered Super Bowls and a pair of Final Fours during his time in the Circle City-including the Colts’ run to Super Bowl XLIV in 2010.
