Mercedes Martinez Biography

Mercedes Martinez is an American host who is currently working at KLAS-TV and KMXB/ Mix 94.1. She serves as the host of Las Vegas NOW alongside JC Fernandez and Kendall Tenney on KLAS-TV and host of Mercedes in the Morning on KMXB/ Mix 94.1. In addition, she joined the KLAS-TV team in January 2017, and in March 1997, she joined the KMXB team. 

She is a sports lover and is a die-hard fan of the Denver Broncos and New York Yankees. She attended the
The University of Nevada-Las Vegas where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Sociology. In her career, she has been able to raise more than 1,000,000 cans of food for the Salvation Army through the Four Corners Food Drive. Martinez has also raised funds for community organizations such as; The Ronald McDonald House, Communities in Schools, United Way, Rape Crisis Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Las Vegas, and Goodie Two Shoes.

In addition, she has also worked with the community to provide Clark County Teachers with more than $100,000 worth of free school supplies. She was also honored for Vegas Gives which is an event to recognize women in Las Vegas that support and contribute to our community organizations the Vegas Magazine. In 2011, she was named by the Seven Vegas Magazine as the Best Radio Personality. The Las Vegas Weekly also named her the Best Local Radio Personality in 2006. Mercedes was also named the Air Personality of the Year in 1998, by Billboard Magazine. From 2000-2012 and in 2016, the Las Vegas Review-Journal named her the Best Local Radio Personality
