Rick Reichmuth is an American meteorologist working for Fox News Channel as a Chief Meteorologist. He joined the Fox News Channel team in 2004, after previously working for Weather Services International.
After earning a Spanish literature degree from Arizona State University, Reichmuth continued his education by completing broadcast meteorology programs at Georgia State and Mississippi State universities. He later decided pursue a lifelong dream in meteorology after almost ten years in banking. Since he joined FNC, he has subsequently contributed vital coverage of every hurricane season. Reichmuth provided live coverage of the aftermath of the deadliest tornado in Kentucky history from Mayfield, Kentucky. He had already written about Moore, Oklahoma’s horrific EF5 tornado. Reichmuth was a live weather anchor for Weather Services International in Andover, Massachusetts, before coming to work for FNC.
Prior to taking on this position, Reichmuth was a freelance weather anchor for Boston, Massachusetts’s WFXT-FOX 25, mostly covering the weather for weekend newscasts. Prior to this, Reichmuth was employed in Atlanta, Georgia, as a weather anchor for CNN, CNN Headline News, and CNN International. He took on a variety of responsibilities there, collaborating closely with executive producers to ensure that precise weather forecasts were distributed effectively.
Reichmuth first began his career as a production coordinator for CNN en Espanol in Atlanta, Georgia. Rick is an American Meteorological Society Television Seal Holder. On November 16, 2017, Reichmuth’s umbrella brand, “Weatherman,” was introduced. Reichmuth had covered extreme weather events for years, but he was unable to locate an umbrella that lived up to his expectations. An umbrella that withstands harsh weather conditions is the end product of three years of research, sketching, testing, and more testing.
