Zane Satre Biography
Zane Satre is an American meteorologist working at KCCI in Des Moines, Iowa where he serves as the weekend evening meteorologist. He joined the KCCI Storm Team 8 in June 2022, after previously working at WHBF-TV.
Iowa is his native home as he was brought up in a farm outside of Dayton before he relocated closer to Ogden during middle school. In 2010, he joined Ogden Community High School where he graduated in 2014, with a diploma. Later on, he joined Iowa State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in meteorology in 2018. While he still attended Iowa State University, he completed his internships in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids for he was able to secure a job at WHBF-TV in the Quad Cities.
Furthermore, he first experienced severe weather in Iowa’s November 2005 tornado outbreak. In 2020, he earned the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation. In 2018, he was a weather intern at WOI-DT for a period of 4 months. Later on, he joined WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Illinois in May 2018 as a weekend meteorologist a position he held for almost 2 years. Later on, he was promoted to serving as a morning meteorologist from 5 am to 9 am till June 2022, when he left the station. During his leisure time, he enjoys biking, planning family camping trips to national parks, and tailgating before Iowa State football games.
