Yaron Weitzman is an American writer working for FOX Sports as an NBA writer. He joined the FOX Sports news team in May 2021, after previously working for Armchair Media.
Weitzman graduated from New York University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, focusing on sports law, and a minor in Jewish History and Civilization. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at Manhattan College. He began his professional journalism career in September 2008 as the co-host of “The Cheap Seats” on WNYU.org. After two years, he transitioned to The Journal News in April 2011 as a sports reporter. Following this, he served as an online editor for TD Magazine and TD Daily.com for two years before joining SB Nation as an NBA and NFL writer and reporter. Later, he worked as a columnist at Awful Announcing from December 2015 to December 2016.
Weitzman is now an award-winning NBA writer for Fox Sports and the author of “Tanking to the Top: The Philadelphia 76ers and the Most Audacious Process in the History of Professional Sports.” His work was recognized in 2020’s “The Best American Sports Writing.”
