Vern Glenn Biography
Vern Glenn is an American three-time Emmy award-winning sports anchor and reporter who is currently working at KPIX 5. He joined the KPIX 5 news team on June 12, 2012, as a weekend and weekday sports anchor and reporter, and multimedia journalist.
He was inducted into the SF/NorCal Silver Circle Hall of Fame in October 2020. In addition, he has received three straight Emmy Awards for Best Sportscaster since 2012. Previously, he worked at KRON 4 News and joined the station in 1990. While he worked at the station, he was nicknamed “Mr. Involvement” for literally throwing himself in the middle of his feature stories.
Furthermore, while he worked at KRON 4 News some of his most memorable stories include; a dirt bike crash, pro football, boxing, bull riding, sky diving, and bungee jumping. In addition, some of his personal assignments were reporting from the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
In 1998, he was part of the KNBR Radio Morning show and as of the moment, he occasionally is a guest on 95.7 The Game. Additionally, from 1987 to 1990, he worked at WBAL-TV in Baltimore. Maryland where he served as a sports anchor and reporter. Furthermore, he worked at WXEX-TV which is currently known as WRIC, in Richmond, Virginia from 1985 to 1987, where he served as a sports anchor, reporter, and photographer. He attended the University of Virginia where he graduated proudly.
