Tracye Hutchins is an American anchor working for CBS46 where she serves as a weekday evening anchor at 3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm. She joined the Atlanta News First team in the spring of 2007 as the co-host of the morning show.
In 1987, Tracye joined Northern Arizona University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalsim in 1992. When she worked on the morning show at CBS46, she covered breaking news, and community events and did celebrity interviews till the fall of 2013 when she joined the evening team. Before Hutchins arrived in Atlanta, she worked for the CBS affiliate KFMB in San Diego, California from April 2004 to April 2007, as an anchor. In addition, she also worked at CNN Headline News in Atlanta for 4 years while covering daily health stories, world news events, and entertainment features.
Furthermore, she was live on the air during major breaking news stories such as; the capture of ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and the break-up of the Columbia space shuttle over Texas. For the last three decades, she has covered news across the country from hurricanes in Fort Myers, Florida, to factory closings in Terre Haute, IN, to 120-degree heat waves in Phoenix, Arizona to soybean crops in Kirksville, MO where she began her television career in 1992. Whenever she finds time, she enjoys looking for the best restaurants in the Southeast and a number of outdoor events with her family.
