The oddity she felt in her breast towards the end of 2014 was never recognized by her mind as a lump. She called her doctor on Friday, January 2, 2015, following the holiday week, and asked for a prescription for a mammogram. Additionally, the physician advised Davidson to get examined. Davidson was unaware of the second, which led to her getting a mammography soon after. However, Davidson’s breast cancer was identified by the doctors following a sample and an MRI. The physician stated that she would be cured by radiation and surgery because the afflicted area was small.
Throughout her diagnosis and treatment, Davidson, who holds a Master’s degree in holistic spirituality and a certificate in religious studies from her time in college, mostly relied on her faith. Her surgery was big news and her coworkers were curious as to why she had been absent from work for four days following her major operation. Only her two co-anchors, Kai Sikahema, and Chris Cato, were informed of the news, and they supported her for several months thereafter as she went to a four-hour workday and occasionally took time off for radiation treatments and doctor’s appointments.
She mentions having a job that pays for insurance to cover her medical expenses and living in a city with top-notch healthcare when she counts her blessings. Above all, she is thankful that she detected the illness early and began treatment right away. She informed her coworkers about her diagnosis and course of treatment during the final week of radiation therapy. She now makes her message known to women frequently, loudly, and plainly.
