Tracie Strahan is an American reporter working for NBC 4 as a breaking news and general assignment reporter on Today in New York. She joined the NBC 4 news team in June 2007.

Strahan has also served as the host of “Positively Black” which is a long-running Public Affairs program on NBC4. The show was awarded a New York National Association of Black Journalists in 2014, for best programming. On the program, she highlighted social and cultural programs, health and education issues, and community leaders making a difference in the African American community.
In addition, for Strahan’s excellence in journalism, she received a National Emmy and an Edward R. Murrow award. For her breaking news coverage, she received the 2014 prestigious Newswomen Club of New York’s “Front Page” award. She has also been awarded two New York Emmy awards in 2012, and 2019, for top live television news reporter and teams news coverage respectively. Furthermore, for Tracie’s coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBC 4news team was honored with the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award in January 2021.
Strahan received recognition as one of the next generation of “Television News Stars,” in the 2008 edition of “Television Week” magazine. She also received the Michele Clark Fellowship award from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). The award was presented to her for being a promising, young, minority professional in television or radio news. Prior to joining NBC 4, Tracie worked at CBS News where she covered news for all the CBS stations nationwide.

Tracie’s broadcasting career started at 1010 WINS radio in New York where she served as an assistant news producer while she was still in college. Furthermore, Strahan attended Syracuse University where she studied at its S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting journalism from the University and she is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
