Tony Sadiku Biography
Tony Sadiku is an American meteorologist and reporter working for FOX 13 Tampa Bay as a weekend morning meteorologist and weekday reporter. He joined the FOX 13 team in November 2020, after previously working for WSOC-TV.
In 2012, Sadiku joined the University of Florida where he studied journalism and communications and graduated in 2015. Later on, Tony joined Mississippi State University where he earned a Master’s degree in meteorology in 2017. The National Weather Association awarded him their Seal of Approval. Prior to joining the FOX 13 team, he worked at WSOC in Charlotte, Northern Carolina where he served as a meteorologist for a period of 2 years. In addition, before he joined WSOC, he worked WFTX Fox 4 News in Cape Coral, Florida where he was a meteorologist and reporter for almost 4 years.
Furthermore, Tony has also worked at WRUF in Gainesville where he was a weather forecaster for almost 2 years. While he was in college, he interned at WJXT in Jacksonville. Over the years, he has covered a number of big weather events such as Hurricane Irma here in Florida. Sadiku also chased tornadoes and flown with Hurricane Hunters into Hurricane Dorian while it was a borderline Category 5 storm battering the Bahamas. In addition, he is passionate about making complex science easy to understand, keeping people safe, and telling compelling stories. During his free time, he enjoys cheering on the Florida Gators, playing his piano or bass guitar, and exercising.
