Tony Pipitone is a 12-time Emmy award-winning reporter working for NBC6 as an investigative reporter. He joined the WTVJ investigative team in March 2014.
Over the years, Pipitone has received 12 Suncoast Emmys, the chapter’s Silver Circle Award, six Edward R. Murrow awards, and many regional and statewide awards. His stories have assisted some people to get out of jail while putting others in jail. He has also assisted in exposing corrupt governments and politicians in addition to shedding light on other illegal activities. Furthermore, prior to Tony joining NBC6, he worked for WKMG-TV in Orlando for 26 years, and while he was there, the Orlando Sentinel named him “one of the finest reporters in Orlando television history.”
In addition, Pipitone attended the University of Maryland where he graduated in 1983, with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism. After having graduated, he began his career at Baltimore Evening Sun where he served as a reporter for 4 years. Later on, Pipitone relocated to Orlando, Florida where he worked for WKMG-TV as an investigative reporter for over 26 years. During his leisure time, he enjoys going to the beach, eating at local restaurants, taking golf courses, traveling, and spending as much time as he can with his family.
