Tonia attended Mississippi State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science and Meteorology. While she was at the university, she was active in the National Weather Association. In addition, she also took part in the American Meteorological Society and the Black Student Association. She began working on air before she even ever graduated. Michele and her sister would make daily vlogs on their YouTube channel; this built her voice for sharing information and connecting with people. After this, she found her interest in doing weather. During the pandemic period, Michele started her first on-air job at KHQ in Spokane, Washington. In addition, Tonia created her first weather reel using a green screen that she bought online.
During her time at Syracuse University, she worked for Forbes, serving as a digital journalist. While at Forbes, she learned the ins and outs of broadcast. In addition, Michele has also worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a short-term meteorologist as she waited to get an opportunity back home. After working in Albuquerque, she got the opportunity to work at WBRC.
During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family and working out. In addition, Tonia and her sister have a YouTube vlog channel called The Topic Twins, which she enjoys hosting. Furthermore, she has written a children’s weather book titled Weather Wonders: Exploring The Skies With Mom.
