Tom Wachs Biography
Tom Wachs is an American Emmy-nominated meteorologist who is currently working at FOX 6. He serves as a weekday evening meteorologist at the station. In addition, he joined the FOX 6 team in June 2014.
Tom Wachs Career
He was brought up in Mequon and he would watch Ormer FOX6 Chief Meteorologist Vince Condella and learn from him. While he was in high school, he was fortunate to have interned with Vince and this was a dream come true for him. In addition, he graduated proudly from Homestead High School and joined both the University of Oklahoma and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Over the years, he interned at many television stations in both Oklahoma City and Milwaukee. Furthermore, he also did intern in Atlanta at The Weather Channel. In addition, after he graduated from college, he was able to secure a job at KNOP-TV in North Platte where he served as a chief meteorologist for a period of two years. Later on, he relocated to Northeast Tennessee where he worked at WJHL-TV.
In addition, he also worked at KCTV doing TV weather and storm chasing for a period of six years. Additionally, when the American Meteorological Society awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation (“CBM”), he was among the first 200 people in the country to receive the award. Prior to also being awarded by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association in 2019 with the Best Weathercast Award. During his leisure time, he enjoys traveling with his wife and spending ample time with his daughter.
